Here at Williams Subaru, we're proud to be able to give back to our local Charlotte community. We are on a mission to be More than a Car Dealership, and we are dedicated to making Charlotte, and the surrounding area, a better place to work, live, and play.

We believe in giving back to our community not just with monetary donations, but with actions and donations of our time through volunteer work and community service.

Common Heart Food Pantry Volunteering

Arielle, Hanaa, Quan, and Kate from Williams Subaru spent the morning organizing abandoned food from local grocery stores donated to the food pantry. Then we put together over 120 mobile pantry food boxes for local families in need!

Creek Week Cleanup @ Campbell Creek Greenway

Creek Week 2022! Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services partnered with Parks & Recreation during March 19-26 recognizing a week of caring for the over 3,000 miles of creeks in our local area. The week's activities were centered around gaining knowledge about and caring for the precious waterways of Charlotte-Mecklenburg. A team of volunteers from Williams Subaru signed up to help clean up Campbell Creek Greenway during this fun and exciting week! We had a great time wading through the creek in our rain boots, collecting all sorts of trash and doing the important work of removing it from the watershed. Charlotte-Mecklenburg is incredibly reliant on the help of volunteers to help keep the parks clean. Williams Subaru is more than happy to take a couple hours away from the office to help out! We were able to remove several bags full of plastic waste like water bottles and grocery bags, plus random items such as clothing, sunglasses, and even a set of car keys. Overall, Creek Week 2022 was a huge success! Volunteers across the county helped divert over 19,000 pounds of trash from local waterways, and marked 26 storm drains. We can't wait to make another impact in our community and waterways next year for Creek Week 2023. #SubaruLovesTheEarth

Davillage Pop Up Shop Donation

March 2021

Donated over $250 worth of household supplies such as laundry detergent, dish soap, linens, and bathroom cleaner to new residents of a former hotel shelter. All residents were elderly, and displaced from the homeless encampment that was evacuated emergently.

Dog Adoption Event @ Williams Subaru with Humane Society of Union County

We shared our showroom with our friends at the Humane Society of Union County for the day so they could hold adoptions inside with air conditioning, rather than outside in the elements. Without a dedicated indoor space, they rely on donated indoor space to hold events when necessary. We opened our doors to our friends on Saturday October 10th, and were so excited to see animals paired up with their new owners!

We opened our doors to our friends on Saturday September 19th, and were so excited to see animals paired up with their new owners! 

Common Heart Volunteering

When COVID-19 made it's way to North Carolina, Williams Subaru immediately thought first about the seniors and children of our community who would be in need very soon. The team at Common Heart let us know that they could use our help in the pantry organizing their stock, and packing food boxes for delivery for our neighbors in need. Our team went and helped them out right away! With all of the movie theaters having shut down, they had an influx of candy and snacks that had recently been donated and were in desperate need of having those sorted and ready for delivery to the community. Our General Sales Manager, Shawn, and Love Encore Specialist, Arielle, spent the morning there and got it all done! We made sure to practice safe social distancing and consistent hand washing throughout our time there. We look forward to continuing to support Common Heart and other neighborhood non-profits who are in extra need right now.

Plogging with NoDa Run Club

The NoDa Run Club put on an amazing event picking up trash while running! Williams Subaru was on-site to help sort through the trash and will recycle what we can with our partners, TerraCycle. The Williams Subaru Around the Crown 10K Outback also led the crowd on their route through NoDa as we worked together to clean up our hood!

The Williams Subaru Love Promise team had a great time volunteering in the Common Heart food pantry, sorting through items donated from local grocery stores. Common Heart serves residents in need in our neighboring community, Union County, NC. Common Heart relies on volunteer hours to accomplish their community mission.

We love volunteering for our friends at Second Harvest Food Bank Metrolina. What an amazing organization, they make a huge impact on the Charlotte community and beyond. Since 1981, SHFBM has been on a missions to eliminate hunger by the solicitation and distribution of food and more to those in need. They rely heavily on the power of volunteers, and we enjoy spending a morning or afternoon with them a few times a year. SHFBM was also our Share the Love campaign beneficiary in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Throughout those 3 years Williams Subaru was able to donate over $78,000 to their organization. 

Queen City Brewer's Festival

For the 3rd year in a row Williams Subaru was proud to bring the Queen City Brewer's Festival mission to life. The QCBF is put on to benefit, ACEing Autism, a 501c3 that connects children with autism through unique tennis programs. To communicate this partnership to festival goers, we fill a Subaru with tennis balls and collect guesses for how many are inside. If someone guesses correctly, they win a new Subaru!

Share the Love 2019 @ Williams Subaru

November 14th - January 2nd 2019

November 14th - January 2nd 2019 Williams Subaru selected Second Harvest Food Bank Metrolina for the 3rd year as our 2019 Share the Love hometown charity partner. Williams Subaru donated $50 for every vehicle sold during this time frame, and Subaru of America donated an additional $250 per car sold to a charity of the buyer's choice. Many of our Williams Subaru customers also selected SHFBM and in total we were able to donate $31,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank Metrolina for the 2019 campaign. In addition, Williams Subaru held a canned food drive and donated over 200 pounds of food donated by our staff and customers.
