I just bought my fourth Subaru and my first from Folger Subaru. I have to say this was the best car buying experience I've ever had. Jim, Neil and the rest of the staff were helpful, responsive and returned my emails quickly - every time I called they answered on the first ring and were friendly and courteous. Once I made a decision on the vehicle I wanted, they snapped into action, got the financing secured and had the paperwork ready as soon as I walked in the door. They walked me around the car, explained every detail and feature and answered every question I had - they obviously know their product and believe in the craftsmanship of the vehicles they sell.
 
I would highly recommend Folger if you're looking for a low-pressure, high satisfaction buying experience. You won't spend 3 hours getting the hard sell from these folks - I spent a maximum of 40 minutes in the dealership after having done all of my research and pre-sales communication online.
 
When it's time to replace my other car, I'm going back to Folger Subaru.


Thanks again to both of you for making this such a great experience and for getting us such a great deal. For the first time I don't feel like I got ripped-off or taken advantage of because of our financing situation. You all are both a credit to the often maligned car sales industry.

This letter is sent to all the great people that handled my wife's auto repair at Folger Automotive.

A short time ago my wife and I were going out of town on vacation for a week and while I was at home getting ready to she was driving home and both she and I were mentally at the coast fishing. Hey guys I married a winner. She won't bait her own hook but she catches more fish than I do! Did I say that? She had her first accident ever the day before we left but boy she did a good job on our brand new Equinox. I mean brand new. But she's a great fishin buddy! Gotta give her that. We have great insurance but we didn't know we had picked the best of the best to repair our vehicle until after the fact. From the first phone call to Lynn at the body shop who had us a loaner upon arrival to Mark and John in the body shop who took personal hands on approach to our situation, we were treated like we were their only customer. We went out of town the next day and felt that our vehicle was being repaired by the best and I mean the best! Your gut can tell you a lot about an organization and it is a feeling or an intuition Folgers had us sold from day one. The only thing else that I can say is if their body shop is this organized and professional the sales and service is more than likely just as good! This will be where I at least look for our next vehicle purchase when the time comes. It is a great feeling to know that there is an automotive group like Folger Automotive that just plain GETS IT!!! When we got our vehicle back, Ahem our brand new vehicle, it really was brand new again. We will not forget those who were behind the scenes working on our vehicle.

I have lived in Charlotte for 86 years and owned many cars. In the fifty's, I had a dealership on North Tryon.  In the past, I have known about every automobile dealer in Charlotte.
This week, March 13, 2009, I needed a second car and went to about every car lot on Independence Boulevard and looked at about 100 cars in my price range and could not make up my mind. I was heading for home and turned in to Folger Automotive to see what they had.  A middle age man can out (rainy and cold weather) and introduced himself as Bill Barber. I told him what I wanted and he said "I have just what you want being detailed and if you come back in about an hour it will be ready.  He told me it was a 2000 Buick Regal, loaded with  everything I wanted including a CD Player. I went back, and sure enough it was just what I was looking for and only $7,950.  I had a budge of no more than $10,000.  Without even driving it, I say "Write it up". Last week I had the pleasure of meeting and working with your service writer Charles Hedrick. I own a 2005 Subaru Outback that I purchased pre-owned at another dealership.  I took that car in for a routine oil change at the dealership where I purchased the vehicle and in the course of their oil change they discovered a problem with the car.  They were not a Subaru dealership and referred me to Folger Subaru's service department.  The problem, they thought, my car was having a blown turbo.  I called your service department prior to bringing the car over and spoke with Charles.  Charles was fairly certain that the car's problem would be covered under warranty, but he needed to check with Subaru to be sure.  I brought the car to your service department and dropped the keys in the overnight slot as instructed by Charles.

 
After checking with Subaru, Charles informed me that we would need to produce oil change records to get the car covered under warranty.  I bought the car with 45,000 miles on it now has 54, 000, so I had records for 3 oil changes.  Subaru needed more; Charles worked diligently to get my car covered under warranty.  He checked through your system, suggested I call the dealership that I purchased the vehicle to get their records, all to get my car covered.  In the end, through Charles' hard work and determination to take care of my needs as a customer, my car was covered.  Throughout the whole process Charles was caring, reassuring, and diligent in his contact with me.  The service waiter at the dealership where I purchased the car even made a point to tell me how thorough Charles has been when they spoke.


You truly have a valuable employee in Charles.  I will not only feel great about bringing my car back to your service department for maintenance, but I will recommend your shop and Charles specifically to my friends & Family.  He truly turned what could have been an expensive and frustrating situation into a positive experience that I will not soon forget.

My car buying experience at Folger with Bob Matzke:
It is never easy to write a $14000 ck., but the negotiation/purchase process was handled in a low-pressure and professional environment.  Bob is a nice guy...He answered my questions and entertained my proposals during the process.  I had owned my previous car for 12 yrs.; there was still emotional attachment to it.  I am the type of person who buys and keeps his car for most of the life of the car.  I do not enjoy the purchase process at dealers, or with private sellers.  The car buying experience at Folger was the most positive that I've had. 

Lastly, I forgot to mention that I was recommended to Folger by one of my work colleagues (who made a purchase there in Nov. '08).  She said it was a good place to buy a car.
